Once Jesus prayed in agony, “Please take this cup away from me – If it can be; if You agree.” Yet obeyed our Savior still; The Father’s plan He did fulfill, Fully trusting in God’s will: “Your will be done, Your will be done.” I’ve oft been tempted, when I pray, To ask for my desire and way; In doing so, I’ve gone astray. Now, O Lord, I finally see That You know what’s best for me – So evermore my prayer shall be: “Your will be done, Your will be done.” In times of doubt and trouble, Lord, I’ll take by faith the Spirit’s Sword, And there I read to “Praise the Lord!” For You have made Your pledges clear: Since I am Yours, I have no fear; To all who call, the Lord is near. “Your will be done, Your will be done.” |
